Everybody’s talking about how great the market is now, but no one’s forgotten the pain of the last recession. There’s a lot of rumbling about if or when will the market again. My clients are asking me about it all the time. I don’t have a crystal ball but do want to share with you what some of the leading experts are talking about.
There are 3 reasons the market will begin changing (notice I didn’t say or freefall), and this is happening in many markets across the nation already.
First, our local and national market has been improving for the last 5 years. A typical upward market trend is 5 years. Statistically at 5 years the market will either flatten or .
Second, around the national elections the real estate market is very volatile. Consumer confidence is shaky and buyers and sellers are very sensitive to this…especially with this year’s election. Historically real estate dips in value around an election.
Third, foreign markets have been hit hard recently which is affecting the cash coming into the states. This is affecting the purchase of higher end properties across the country which wealthy foreigners have often purchased.
We are on more solid ground than when it crashed in 2007 and don’t foresee anything like that happening again this time. If selling your home is in the near future, now will be the best time for a while to get top price.
Feel free to email, call, or text with any specific real estate questions relating you.
